We have passed the magic marker of one week left at home…and so by this time next week we’ll be in Shanghai. In recent weeks our days have been occupied with all the minutiae of parking our normal lives for the next 8 months (e.g. filling out tax returns 6 months earlier than we would normally so we don’t have to do it while on a beach in Fiji!) while also getting everything we need organised for our interim life as nomads (e.g. last minute purchase of a Travel Scrabble set to supplement the variety of no-tech games we’ll use to fill some quiet times).
The boys are getting more aware of what we’re about to do and talking about it more with their friends, although as with most boys at their age they are mostly captivated with what they will be doing for fun today and what’s for lunch or dinner.
