Mui Ne is a beach resort town along the South China Sea in Southeast Vietnam. Once upon a time, Mui Ne was an isolated stretch of beach where pioneering travellers camped on the sand. Times have changed and it’s now a string of beach resorts, which have fused into one long coastal strip. These resorts are, for the most part, low-rise and set amid pretty gardens by the sea. The original fishing village is still here, but tourists outnumber locals these days. With a long, palm-lined stretch of sand, it has steady wind conditions, in the dry season, that make it a top destination for windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. It takes about 3.5 hours by car to reach Mui Ne from Ho Chi Minh City.
We stayed at the Grace Boutique Resort, a lovely small hotel right on the beach.
Our days were spent catching up on schoolwork as we’d had two weeks off for half term, swimming, relaxing and reading.
We also took the opportunity to get all the boys haircut.
The owners, Van and Loan, and indeed all the staff, are incredibly friendly and accommodating. On our last day Van and Loan invited us to share lunch with them and some other guests. This was a lovely gesture which was much appreciated.
Late afternoon is always my favourite time at the beach and here was no exception. Drinking a cocktail, whilst watching the the sun go down over the ocean will hold special memories for me.
Whilst we were at the hotel there was just one other couple staying so it felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Wow this sounds like paradise. Love the idea of cocktails on the beach late afternoon. Heaven
Heaven indeed…we are very lucky.
